BENEFIT GUIDELINES
FOR SUBARU ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE
AND ROAD HAZARD TIRE PROTECTION

Subaru roadside services are provided to you by Subaru of America, Inc. ("Subaru") through Cross Country Motor Club, Inc., Medford, MA 02155, except in Alaska, California, Hawaii, Oregon, Wisconsin, and Wyoming where services are provided through Cross Country Motor Club of California, Inc., Thousand Oaks, CA 91360 ("CCMC"). Road hazard tire protection services are also provided to you by Subaru, with the claim administration managed by CCMC or its affiliates (this service is limited to purchasers of Gold Plus plans).

Who is Covered
Roadside benefits cover the owner of the vehicle identified in the vehicle service contract, while operating the vehicle, as well as other drivers that are using the vehicle with the owner's permission.

Types of Vehicles Covered
The benefits cover your passenger vehicle. Coverage does not extend to other vehicles that you may own; and commercial vehicles are not eligible for coverage.

How to Request Services
Contact Subaru Roadside Assistance for roadside, lockout and towing services by calling 1-800-261-2155.

Roadside Assistance
The program covers the owner for road service disablements such as flat tires, dead batteries, out of gas, or lockouts. Coverage is provided for up to $100 per event (except for Added Security Certified Pre-Owned Powertrain plans, and Certified Pre-Owned Classic plans, where coverage is limited to up to $50 per event). Coverage includes:

Emergency Lockout Service
You are entitled to emergency lockout service to help you gain entry to your locked vehicle, for up to $100 per event (except for Added Security Certified Pre-Owned Powertrain plans, and Certified Pre-Owned Classic plans, where coverage is limited to up to $50 per event).

Towing Services
If the auto service provider can’t fix the problem on the spot, your vehicle will be towed to the closest Subaru dealer or your preferred repair facility that is within 25 miles of the closest dealer. You are covered for up to $100 per event (except for Added Security Certified Pre-Owned Powertrain plans, and Certified Pre-Owned Classic plans, where coverage is limited to up to $50 per event).

Reimbursement Privileges for Roadside Assistance, Emergency Lockout or Towing Services
When, because of unusual circumstances, you utilize the option of obtaining emergency services through your own road service provider (defined as an established commercial garage, service station, or other repair facility), and you wish to be reimbursed, up to a maximum of $100 for that event (except for Added Security Certified Pre-Owned Powertrain plans, and Certified Pre-Owned Classic plans, where coverage is limited to up to a maximum of $50 per event), first you must call Cross Country Motor Club at 1-800-261-2155 and receive an authorization number. This number is necessary for reimbursement.

All claims must be mailed to Cross Country Motor Club, Inc., Claims Department, P.O. Box 9145, Medford, MA 02155 within thirty (30) days of the disablement or occurrence, accompanied by the bill and verification records requested previously.

Private citizen's assistance is not reimbursable

Road Hazard Tire Protection (Gold Plus plans sold prior to August 7, 2017 only)
For Gold Plus service contract plans, your original tires will be covered during the first 50,000 miles of the plan term against repairable leaks or punctures from potholes, nails, glass and other road hazards not covered by the tire manufacturer's warranty. You will be paid a prorated cost up to $300 for a repair or replacement based on remaining tire tread.

Reimbursement Process for Tire Repair or Replacement (Gold Plus plans sold prior to August 7, 2017 only)
For requests for reimbursements related to tire repair or replacement (up to a maximum of $300), you must submit a letter requesting reimbursement for a tire repair or replacement, setting forth the following items: (i) the date of tire damage; (ii) the full VIN # and Service Contract number; (iii) the mileage of the vehicle at the time of the repair or replacement; (iv) the reason for tire repair or replacement (what happened that caused the damage); and (v) a copy of the dealer's repair order (must be on the official form of the dealership or repair shop), which must include (A) the tread depth of the damaged tire and (B) the repair or replacement tire cost (which may include costs of mounting, balancing, valve stem, tire pressure sensor, tax, and disposal fee).

The reimbursement letter must be mailed to Cross Country Motor Club, Inc., Claims Department, P.O. Box 9145, Medford, MA 02155 within thirty (30) days of the repair or replacement, accompanied by the bill and verification records requested previously.

Custom Trip Routing

Call us at 1-800-261-2155 the next time you are planning a trip. Subaru Roadside Assistance will provide you with a detailed trip routing and map package, including:

To obtain your customized trip routing package, complete and return the trip routing request card contained in your welcome package or call 1-800-261-2155. Please allow 2-3 weeks for shipment after you've submitted your request.

Lost Key Retrieval Services
Contained in your member package will be two registered key tags. Use the key tag for all your keys. If they're lost, anyone finding them can drop them in a mailbox and they are returned to Subaru Roadside Assistance, postage paid. Upon receipt of your keys, Subaru Roadside Assistance will contact you by phone and return the lost keys to you by mail.

General Limitations
The following provisions apply to the services:

  1. The reference to "you" and "your" throughout this material, refers to the individual owner named on the vehicle service contract.
  2. Your coverage of roadside benefits begins on the purchase date of your vehicle services contract under which you receive the roadside benefits, and will continue until the expiration date of the vehicle service contract.
  3. Your benefits cover only the vehicle named in the vehicle services contract, while operated by you or by anyone with your permission.
  4. Services are available in the 50 United States plus the District of Columbia (but excluding its territories and possessions) and in Canada.
  5. Roadside assistance, towing, and lockout services are available only when the vehicle(s) covered is unable to proceed safely under its own power, either on your premises (garage or driveway) or any normally traveled, paved public street, highway, or parking area.
  6. Roadside assistance, lockout services, and towing are for emergencies only and not intended to be a general repair service or used as a substitute for regular/routine maintenance. Winching benefits are limited to within 25 feet off the side of a normally traveled paved public street, highway, or parking area. Towing services are limited to "light-duty" and "medium-duty" vehicles, with a gross vehicle weight of no more than 20,000 pounds and a length of no greater than 30 feet. Vehicles with attached trailers may not be eligible for towing without additional charges.
  7. The service provider and service facilities are independent contractors and are not the agents or employees of Subaru or CCMC. Neither Subaru nor CCMC can assume liability for damage to a vehicle or injury to person(s) or other claims from the rendering of service or for personal items left in the vehicle. Any claims for damage to the property or injury to person(s) should be filed against the service provider or facility.

Non-Covered Items

  1. All parts, labor, and supplies provided while at an auto repair shop or service station or towing to another location from the original location to accommodate the driver.
  2. Service for taxicabs, travel trailers, recreational vehicles, camping trailers, mobile homes, tractors, boats, rental vehicles, commercial vehicles, dune buggies, ATVs, vehicles used for competition, stolen vehicles, unlicensed vehicles, illegally parked or impounded vehicles, or any vehicles in tow.
  3. Any and all fines or ambulance charges.
  4. Rental of towing equipment.
  5. Towing at the direction of a law enforcement officer relating to traffic obstruction, impoundment, abandonment, illegal parking or other violations of law, or towing by other than a licensed service station or garage.
  6. Installation or removal of snow tires, repairs to studs, mounting and dismounting snow chains.
  7. Cost to remove or replace a lost or broken key or any parts or repairs necessary as a result of such event.
  8. Shoveling snow from around a vehicle.
  9. Vehicle storage charges, cost of parts and installation of products, materials, impoundment, and additional labor relating to towing.
  10. With respect to tire repair or replacement services, (i) the cost of repair or replacement of the wheel rim and/or tire pressure monitoring devices, (ii) damages if due to tire manufacturer defects (including warranty claims, recalls, or acknowledgement of responsibility by tire manufacturers), or (iii) damages if due to accidents (including curb impact or operator error), or due to theft, larceny, mischief or vandalism.
  11. Benefits are not applicable if the need for service arises out of or in connection with an act of God, war, insurrection, riot, etc.
  12. Expenses incurred by you that are not specifically listed in this material.
